There is really only one way to improve politics: to pay close attention and to hold politicians accountable.

If everyone was watching everything they did, didn't fall for smear tactics in campaigns or distortions of the truth, and then affected changes based on what they saw, then politicians would know that they could not lie, cheat, and steal their way through office. Only people who really wanted to serve the public good would even be attracted to such a job.

This can be a lot of work, though, and many people do not seem to be willing to invest it. So perhaps the best you can do as an individual is just to try and get the word out as well as you can. Sometimes one person CAN spark a larger movement or stop something that is wrong.

Do your best. That is all you can do.
