I know its a computer glitch, but someone had to have inputted that word into to the computer to describe the color in the beginning, computers just dont "invent" words themselves....

Well being a Black man I would be offended. Only language that is close to using the "N" word in spanish using black as *****. Both words and their meaning are totally different. But after reading the article i dont think is grounds to sue...I would just inform the company of it.. ppl of all races seem to always wanna make a quick buck, seems like its the new "American" Way.

I guess I can understand her offense at the situation, but if it is a computer generated issue from a previous program, and the program has since been updated...
Ya know, the word for black in Spanish is *****. Does that mean someone is going to sue the Spanish govenerment because it could be offensive?
Yes, we need to be sensitive to people's ethnicity, but I think some times (often, actually) political correctness is going to far. And this is one of those cases.

I agree with camd42, and I believe there are a lot of ignorant racist people answering this question and giving good answers thumbs down. That word is hurtful and people have a right to feel hurt about this situation. It is very easy for some white person to say "get over it," but they have not been oppressed. I'm disgusted with the situation and a lot of people who answered this question so ignorantly and callously.

Someone actually sent me that story a while ago during the whole Don Imus controversy. I was completely outraged, disgusted, and saddened. It is a shame that things like this happen and ignorant people who say "it is just a word" make the situation even worse.=(
Change will never come if people continue to be so indifferent and insensitive. That word carries a history of abuse, oppression, and pain. Why is it so difficult to understand why it is so upsetting? This isn't about "political correctness" at all.
"*****" and that other N word are not the same, I don't know why people keep saying that. I don't believe she should sue, she really has no case here, but I understand her pain.

I would be upset also. I would ask for an apology from the company. that is awful thing to say. why didn't they just say a black couch. she is blaming the computer, the computer is just a machine. it is the person that seats in front of the computer who typed it in.
