fetus, it's murder... unless she WANTS to lose the fetus, in which case it's a legal abortion?

If it's not a life, then how can it be murder? But is it is a life, how can abortion NOT be murder?

Does a life stop being a life just because a woman says, "That's not a life"? Does a lump of cells suddenly become a "life" because some day it might become a person?

it's life right after conception so as long as there's something inside the mother's womb and you cause a pregnant woman to miscarriage, it's murder. since i'm Catholic, we believe there is life right at conception. based on my beliefs and my religion, it is still murder if the woman decides to abort the baby however, i am not sure about the whole legal law thing. hope this helped.

You can't define abortion as a murder before 24 weeks,. There are abortions done for several reasons, tubal pregnancies and other life threatning conditions and if the woman was raped, then I would most definatley allow her to choose.

If an abortion is done because the woman dosen't want to go through with it, eventhough it's legal, somewhere somehow she will suffer and have to live with the fact that because of her, somone is not alive today. Is it really murder, I think so. I also think it's murder if a pregnant woman has a miscarrage due to drugs and alcohol.

But, you're asking how come a person who causes a woman to miscarrage be charged with murder, but a woman can abort a fetus and it's completely legal. Like somone said above, abortion is illegal after 24 weeks and I would suspect that if a person was charged for murder of an unborn child, it would have to be over 24 week. I've seen people on the news who were charged in the death of an unborn child, but never anything under the 24 week mark. If it does happen, then the system is hypocritical and a good attorney would use that as a defense.

First, it's not a lump of cells that SUDDENLY becomes a life SOME DAY. It's a life NOW. Just because it doesn't look we do, doesn't mean it's not a life. It's a human life that is simply in another stage of development.

I've spent decades defending a "fetus" as a life. BUT I'M DONE. The defending should be done by the people who say abortion is okay. I challenge anyone to PROVE to me that it's NOT life. Here is my evidence that it IS life: (1) ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON THIS EARTH CAN GROW IF IT'S NOT ALIVE (and I challenge anyone out there to prove me wrong -- by the way, if you're thinking of saying hair and nails after you die continue to grow - that's a myth! NOTHING ON THIS EARTH CAN GROW IF IT'S NOT ALIVE!), AND (2) A FERTILIZED EGG CONTAINS EVERY BIT OF DNA NECESSARY FOR HUMAN-NESS.

OKAY, so, NOW I've given you two pieces of medical/scientific evidence that that baby is alive. Now YOU people out there who believe abortion isn't murder give ME two pieces of evidence that it's NOT life ... and then I'll give you two more pieces of evidence that it is life.

I'm waiting.

If you have none, then you are erring on the side of murder. At least if I have no evidence that it's life - of course, I DO have evidence that it's life, I gave it above - BUT, even IF I don't have evidence that it's a life, then at least I'm erring on the side of life. Again, YOU WHO SAY ABORTION IS OKAY ARE ERRING ON THE SIDE OF MURDER.

Don't confuse "not born" with "not alive." NOTHING ON EARTH CAN GROW IF IT'S NOT ALIVE!!!!! Sheesh.

I DARE YOU TO PROVE THAT IT'S NOT LIFE. WHERE'S YOUR EVIDENCE? (I'm dying to hear this. And so are the babies.)

Because it is the woman's decision whether she WANTS the pregnancy or not. I don't consider ANY termination of a pregnancy to be murder anyway. In order for there to be a murder there HAS to be a BORN entity. A fetus is not a BORN entity and therefore no murder occurs, if another person forces a woman to have an abortion they are guilty of forcing a termination of pregnancy and should be held accountable by law.

I think your question is has to do with the law, not with medical definitions!

I can suspect that those laws were written as the person who was murdered would have had the child if they weren't! This is the only case like this.

You can abuse a fetus by taking drugs all you want and the state cannot intervene until the child is born.

Until a child is born, it is a fetus. Most terminations of pregnancy occur early in a pregnancy!

Nice try though!

It's not considered "murder" if the fetus was not viable, i.e. able to live outside the womb. Usually more than 24 weeks; and most states don't allow abortions beyond that date.

But bottom line, as hearts said above, it's really none of your business.

I guess it is only abortion because the mother chose to stop the life. If she doesn't choose then it is murder. (Just a Guess)

If it takes two to make a baby, and rightfully takes two to raise a baby, how come it only takes one to abort a baby? Your heart is not on fire, your heart is a cold and selfish one.

Because the choice belongs 100% to the pregnant woman. not you, not me. period.
