It depends if you have a new idea. If you do you should register it at the patent office - then is it safe from copying. You should then start a company, do this by going to a website like www.CompaniesMadeSimple.Com and type in you details. Then you are ready to go!!

These are ideas that are helpful.

Doing it on your own vs the above option
You will need to register with the State the business name.
You will need a business license.
To keep your business solely yours will need a attorney to create a no compete clause.
The cost of advertising
Employees
Over head rent and utilities.
The cost to produce product availability.

When you call the above # you will see a huge difference in cost in having a business of your own with this company than tiring to be independent.

This really does depend on what sort of business it is, the best bet is probably go and to talk to your banks business manager they will be able to advice you or even citizens advice.

You need to talk this over face to face with someone. Go see the local Small Business Development Center representative.
