GSH is for George Stanley Halas, the original owner and coach of the Bears. Upon his death in 1983, the team put his initials on the sleeves of the jerseys. His children inherited the team, and it may be a problem in the next few years because there may no longer be a majority shareholder of the club once the current round of children pass away. The family may be forced to sell the club under NFL rules.

The GSH stands for "George Stanley Halas".
He was the sole owner of the Chicago Bears from 1932 until his death in 1983, when the team was inherited by his daughter, Virginia Halas McCaskey. George Halas is recognized as being one of the pioneers in the upcome of the NFL's creation and success, and is therefore recognized and remembered on the sleeve of all Chicago Bears jerseys. This has been printed on the jerseys since the start of the 1984 NFL season, immediately following his death.
I hope this has helped answer your question.
Have a great day!

George S Halas. Long time owner, coach and part founder of the NFL. After his death in 1981, I believe, as a tribute they had the GSH placed on the sleeves of their jerseys, and It has stuck to this day. Actually, his family still ownes the team to this day. Chairwoman Virginia McCaffery is Mr Halas' granddaughter
