How can you tell which guppy fries to cull and which ones to ?keep? I want to keep 2 females and one male. What are some good signs that they will grow up healthy and colorful? What are some common irregularities to watch for?

Watch for and remove any with obvious physical deformities such as missing fins, bent spines, etc. As they get older you will be able to tell which are going to have good color and which are not colors you want to keep. If the fish appears to be healthy, just not a color you like or has small fins etc, try to trade those at a local shop for a little store credit. Any with deformities at all, no matter how minor should be humanely euthanized or fed to another fish or in some way destroyed so that they do not end up breeding and passing along poor traits.

i've got had to euthanize a number of my infant guppies this style: a million.) take a universal bowl, fill it halfway up with water 2.) placed it interior the freezer till a skinny sheet of ice varieties 3.) smash a small element of the ice away so there's a hollow 4.) Take a 2nd to make confident that's the fish you desire to place down 5.) slide the infant in. it is going to be lifeless in 3 seconds There you bypass. i've got self belief that letting a fish freeze slowly to dying is cruel. that's rapid and painless. or you're able to do the clove oil technique, yet that's extra decrease priced.
