you set limits, and that is there limit.......the odds are against you of winning. I do the same, I go to have a good time, if I lose I only lose a set amount,and not the house , if I win then that's a bonus, but I go to have a good time win or lose.

Because people will do anything to get the almighty jackpot. Even though there are people that come here and lose their money, their are also people that come down her broke and leaves richer beyond their dreams. Las Vegas is a gambling state. you have to lose money to make money. and the fastest way to do that other than having your own business is gambling. And Las Vegas has a lot more to offer than just gambling. There are all kinds of entertainment, day and night.

Las Vegas looks the way it does because people spend too much money gambling there. Your right.... people think they are going to win big money but as it goes it doesn't happen. You never hear of many people winning. And if they do... they never tell you how much they put out. I do enjoy going to Vegas.... I spend my money on shopping, shows etc....not burning them in the slots were it's gone in seconds. I want to be able to say I did something with my money. Just not give it away.

No, that's being SMART about playing. If you go with the assumption you're going to lose, it's not a shock when you do. The number of people who actually win big in ratio to the number of people who visit Las Vegas annually is VERY SMALL.
Besides, if you can't pay your rent/mortgage/car payment/etc. because you went to Vegas - that makes you either a big idiot or someone with a gambling PROBLEM.
This question proves how clueless you really are.

i grew up in vegas and i have to tell you it is a lot of fun and being spontaneous and doing things you dont normally do is fun its better to set an amount to lose so if you do lose you hopefully wont spend more than you hope to the bad thing is gambling is a addicting but vegas is not all about gambling there is so much other things to do while you are there

They are not stupid, they are actually being smart about it by realizing that they are probably not going to win anything. Entertainment costs money. They are basically paying for the entertainment of gambling in Vegas, and that's how much money they are willing to put into it.
