I would take it to a pro and let them do it, I believe they have a special trickle style charger.
I have a yellow top over 5 years old - like new.

If its been left fully discharged for a month or more its toast. The plates sulphate and cant be recovered by charging

I would think so, I dont believe they are maintainable (cant add water to them), so, give it a try, if you can add water to them, be sure it is distilled water you add to it.

if that is a lead-acid battery(like in a car- NO, it is toast.

Try it....
You can't hurt it........

It may take a couple days on the charger set on LOW.
