The previous poster is correct. Smooth (and rough) green snakes are insectivores. Crickets are usually the main diet. You have to treat these types of snakes more like lizards then snakes in that a vitamin calcium supplement should be dusted on their crickets. A UV light is also recommended for these guys.

Go to a pet store and bring your snake. They can probably identify what type of snake it is and decide what to feed it.

Green snakes are insectivores.
That means feed it insects. Crickets, caterpillars, etc.
Good luck, they are challenging captives.

Feeder fish, crickets, worms, and other small things like that.
