Obviously you will want to stick with sinking foods. Many BGK can be trained to accept sinking pellets with a very meaty formulation such as brine shrimp pellets or sinking cichlid pellets. You do need to leave the frozen and live worms in it's diet as much as possible though, as variety is a key factor in good nutrition for any fish.

Black Ghost Knifefish must be fed a varied diet. This may include live foods, beefheart, shrimp pellets, snails, small fish and worms. Tubifex and Bloodworms are said to be a favorite. These fish are big eaters. If they are not properly nourished, they may hunt other fish in the tank. As always, live foods are beneficial. Black Ghosts are very quick at detecting the smell of food. Even when there are just a few pieces and the other fish have gotten to them, you can expect your Knifefish to be out immediately, zig-zagging and looking for it.
