Stop and think about some of the other symbolisims of Easter. Chicks and lambs. In otherwords a renewal of life, which eggs can represent. And the rabbit itself represent fertility, and thus also serve as a renewal of life. So the Easter bunny bring Easter eggs is enforcing that message twice over.

Bunnies multiple very fast and they are a sign for fertility. The eggs represent the ovum and and eggs of a woman. It was a pagan holiday that was used by the priesthood to convert people to Christianity. Comes from European history.

There is no such thing as the Easter Bunny, and for the guy in the big red suit with the beard, not real,as for the flying Reindeer you guessed it not real!! Sorry to burst your Leave it to Beaver existence!!
