It is just a standard dlink router

http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=474

You want to go into the control panel of the wireless router
Instuctions will be in your manual or online at the dlink website

type http://192.168.0.1

you should see a web based interface

account is usually admin
password by default is admin
( it will be in the manual)

If you have trouble seeing this control panel log on
check that in internet explorer that tools> internet options > connections > lan settings everything is unchecked

if you are still having trouble try firefox
if not reboot

hopefully you will get in quick but it can be erratic and frustrating

go to wireless > advanced or whatever

You want to turn on wireless encryption
You generate a code with a passphrase
You then type that code into your remote computers to log on to your wireless network

There a number of wireless encryption formats

- most common and easiest is wep 64
64 has tons of numbers
wpa is appparently more secure
If you are just keeping out neighbors wep 64 will be fine

couple tips
- change the channel of your router from 6 to anything else 1 or 11 are best
- change the ssid from default to whatever you like even if you add a digit or two
- if you want to you can turn off the broadcast beacon once you are familiar with wi fi
- make sure the router is high and unobstructed by clutter
- if you have trouble reset the router ( press the button on hte back) with a pin and start all over again
It will be reset back to factory defaults

Chances are any good knowledgeable technician will look at the documentation. That is what I suggest you do. Also, the DLink tech support folks might be able to help.

Good Luck
