following on from a question posted by Marie S about a Maddy day, I hunted around the for the article about this.
The article is here:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article1875580.ece
I think the article speaks for itself and about how tasteless this campaign has become ......... maybe they will have Madeleine Dolls in shops in time for Christmas.

Snookler - I would prefer all missing children are treated equally. Also I doubt you will find too many parents of missing children as criminally negligent as Gerry and Kate McCann. Help me bring them to justice and then we can talk.

Lexy - Hoping I was dead? Thats a bit rough LOL. The trouble with Team McCann is they will turn public opinion against them by this continual 'me me me' campaign that becomes the Gerry and Kate show. They are basking in the reflected glory of their daughter. Sometimes less is more. Maybe they need to let the campaign drop for a while, let the police get on with theirs and then maybe pick it up again to prick public conciousness again. But to do it day after day. The public just cant handle that.
Their PR people are the worst . They clearly have no idea how to deal with the public.

Don't the McCanns realise how detrimental their constant bid for media attention is? I for one am throughly fed up with hearing about them - as its the McCanns that take up column inches and airtime rather than their lost daughter. It has got to the point where I turn the televeion over rather than hear another BBC/Sky special report on who the McCanns went to visit today.
As for the dolls- I really would'nt be surprised if they were to appear!

well I have just looked on timesonline link and I think its terrible that these people are even thinking of a Madeleine day, where on earth will it all end [the publicity stunts I mean] I hope that this little girl comes home safe and sound. At first I did have [some] sympathy with the parents but as the days wear on I only feel contempt for them with all this carry on, they would be better off out there searching and searching no matter what, I have yet to see them trawl the streets looking they are more interested in meeting the Pope and whoever else

Just when I thought Team McCann Limited couldn't get any more crass, they have excelled themselves. This vile, sour faced, narcissistic, self centered, attention seeking excuse for a couple of really surpassed themselves haven't they. They are on a roll now, the money is rolling in, celebrity status is within their grasp - how annoying for them that they still have two other children to think of - oops, sorry, they have dumped them on someone else now haven't they.
Their analogies get more surreal as time passes, we have the comparison of Maddy going missing to being a student and in debt - a classic from Gerry. We have had a couple of equally ridiculous ones from Kate and now, apparently, it's like being diagnosed with cancer. How the hell would she know what that's like then?!
The good news is that they say in their latest interview on your link that they don't blame each other for Maddy going missing - well that's all right then, as long as it was a joint decision to abandon their children while they go off to stuff their selfish little mouths then that's OK. They sicken me.

Hi Dave, this bandwagon, which never was in the best possible taste, has now gone beyond a joke. I really believe it is too late to find her, so why they keep their own negligent involvement at the very start of this case in the public arena for so long beggars belief. Anyone else in their position would have dug a hole and hoped that they would not be prosecuted. They would also have made some sort of show of looking after their remaining children.
Amazingly, Scunthorpe is still not on their itinerary!

Don't mock it. This could be a good thing. If we have a day off for every missing child we will never have to go to work again. I say campaign for the day off and then claim it's insensitive when you don't get a day off every time a child goes missing. I think that any idea which gives me time off work is a good one.

i just cant wait for the mccann supporter explanation about madeleines sleepwalking and being found wandering the streets at home because the parents leave their door unlocked there too........lets see them provide proof thats not neglect either this child has been at risk since the day she was born.....if you ask me it wasnt a case of if this child was ever going to go missing but when she was gonna go missing

International Maddy day? Pah. They should hold an international Bobbin day, or international lemming day, or international Ribena juice drink day instead.
Get my point? ;)
Though, Dave, you have to admit, Maddy's being mentioned for once. If it was International McCann day, then THAT would be tasteless.

Whoever has got hold of little Madeline really is really going to find all this publicity really useful. With the parents, police and others announcing daily where they are off to next to search, then it is very easy for this man (or woman) to just flick on the news and know where they can hide and where not to go!

And people are wondering WHY the McCanns are getting so much stick.
I can understand them wanting to keep her in the public eye, but the 'jet setting' & 'rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous' while the are doing it is really hacking people off. Especally as the two twins are now, basically, without a Mum & Dad.
THERE ARE WAYS AND MEANS of doing things. I would draw your attention to the Campaigns of not only the missing BBC reporter Alan Johnson, but also the campaigns for Terry Waite, Brian Keenan & John Macarthy - they kept the cause alive WITHOUT giving the appearence of a mini industry allowing various 'Jollies'.

Bloody hell...I don't know what to say...that's terrible.
If they have a Madeleine Day then that is it, I might actually go to Portugal or Spain or New Jersey or wherever she's supposed to be living and find Madeleine JUST to shut them up...
