Dad should have been left with them until them were free swimming, or swimming horizontally. Assuming you have the water level at about 5" deep or less, they should be ok though as they should begin swimming horizontally within the next day. Begin feeding them when they are free swimming but I would start in about 8-12 hours as some will develop more quickly than others and will need food sooner than the others.

If you need further help with them please feel free to email me.

This is normal, like a baby learning how to crawl. I would suggest grinding up betta food into a powder, and putting it into the tank, and let it fall slowly to the bottom. It was a good idea taking the male out. MAKE SURE THE FEMALE IS OUT TO! AS SHE WILL EAT THE BABIES!! I wouldnt suggest putting the male back in, because you have already taken him out, which causes him to loose his maternal instincts. If you put him back in, he will eat them like betta food. :-(

You shouldn't have taken dad out. I'm not sure you can put him back in. He cares for the babies. Mommy NEEDS to be taken out though. Most of them will probably die now. Or maybe not. Here is a site below that is really helpful.
