They are fatalists. And they do have a religion. It is called animism (all things have spirits). They are organized into extended family groups called tribes. Their needs are easily met by their environment because they know of nothing else. They appear happier because all their strife is with other tribes or the usual family squabbles which is strictly controlled by a patriarch/matriarch. Ocassionally murder or executions are done. But generally, the leaders keep peace in the family. It is not practical for us to follow the same structure, but if we could, we would be more peaceful. However, it would destroy our current civilization.

I think you ment to ask why was primitive man more happy than modern man? But you ask about humans in the jungle verses humans in a city enviorment. I do not think that you can really Gage happiness accurately from either group, as being happy is a state of mind! We as modern men think that because things were so much simpler in the past that they must have been happier back then. This is not true. Those people had a lot of other problems to deal with far worse than we do today, like disease, other predators, the weather etc.,etc! Here in modern times we have more comforts so some would say we are happier , not so! We also have a lot more different kind of stresses! Happiness depends on the individual no matter when they were born or where they lived!

Wow...from where are you getting your information? The word "uncivilized" is extremely insulting, as is your assumption that people living as they have for centuries have no god, no religion. They absolutely do have their own beliefs, and just because they do not follow what the supposedly "civilized" world follows does not mean there is nothing going on. Capitalist societies can never be at peace because money is unevenly distributed--which causes a lot of social problems. So no, the western world will never live peacefully "like them." Like who? Your question is very vague and has a number of erroneous assumptions--besides the fact that "more happier" is incorrect English.

Happiness is all in our minds. You feel happy in the surroundings you are born and brought up.If you are not happy in your place you start thinking all other places are better.Distant mountains are smooth and clean and appear better.this is an old adage. In India many people think USA is better and lovely. In some respects I agree .But if I am given a chance I will not opt for settling here, because of cultural differences.I have seen USA from east to west and north to south and stayed more than two years. It is a rich country well developed and neat and clean.Beyond this men need some thing more like love, affection,to be wanted by others, morals,
ethics etc. These you find only in your place of birth and among near and dear.Mostly forest people are attached to one another and share with others what they have, unlike city people who grab any thing you have. They are least worried
about tomorrow or any other problem.

I disagree with you basic hypothesis - 1. They do have god,s and religion that goes back way into their history, plus the fact that all humans are born with an spiritual need in their lives. 2. They have problems - i.e. disease, no medicine, a forever ongoing wars with other tribes and the need for hunting for food and water, where big businesses are always looking to loot the resources that are native to the jungles. If you believe they live peaceful maybe one reason is that they have no cars, telephones, computers, or the daily drive for success like we do have here in the USA. Look deep within yourself ..... We all have a drive to accomplish and nurture those we love. Good Question!!!

Communal life means that people are alone less. As a result, they think less. Unhappiness also stems from our ability to create self-pity. Someone who has been caught up in feeling sorry for the self will not experience happiness.

Western cultures indulges in our "feelings" which includes ongoing bouts of self-pity. Other communal cultures frown on the behaviour.

what makes you think people in less developed areas are happier than those in highly developed areas?
also, all indigenous societies - even those in jungles - have a form of religion and gods. they may not be members of any of the big 5 (Jew, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu) but they have their own forms of organized spirituality.

Yes of course. Unlike education or religion, emotions are inherited, not learned. How you display them is half and half, though. A human child raised by monkeys would without doubt express some of their emotions like a monkey would.

no religion and no god? What are you smoking? Have you seen the rituals they go through?

LOL, that was funny.
They are happier b/c (if they are) they are not constantly confronted with a better life than their own on TV and in movies. They are content just the way they are.
