Ricky and Rohak1212 are dead on.
there is an added thing as well, not only are you in close proximity to another guy, and you are on their bike, it adds a feeling of inadequacy for guys who are not secure in and of themselves without their bike, or without a girl behind them (called "riding b**ch"). a lot of guys today define themselves by their jobs, what they ride, or even who their parents are (or are not). the biggest reason young guys buy bikes is to impress someone else, and to get other people to say "oh, I wanna be like Joe Jones, look at that 600cc bike!" when really what those people are saying "this guy is going to be a pavement waffle in a month if he doesn't straighten up."
most young guys think the first thing is going through people's minds, when really it is the second one going through the minds of veteran riders. for too many young riders it is all about perception. and it shouldn't be. it should be about themselves enjoying the ride, not the attention on the ride. the latter will only get you killed.

Getting into the groove again on a road bike is what you have to do... and an MSF course is an excellent first step. That being said, dirt riding experience is invaluable. When you ride in the dirt you get used to dealing with the rear tire slipping out from under you and you don't panic, which is a useful skill when you hit a wet or sandy patch on a curve while riding street. As for the crappy cagers, DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE. Look ahead 5 or 6 cars at least, if you see brake lights half a mile up start slowing down, ANTICIPATE what the idiot's are going to do and assume that they don't see you (your horn is your second most important defensive weapon, your brain is the first). I learned to ride defensively as a motorcycle messenger on the streets of Manhattan with the Cosmic Messenger Service (little Hodakas). If you don;t look you die.

Riding on the back of a motorcycle, any type of motorcycle, requires you to be in very close proximity to the driver. You may have your legs around the guys hips, or you have to hold onto him. So your boyfriend is jealous of the close physical contact you're having with another guy. Also, since a lot of guys use bikes to pick up girls, there's an element of competition to it.

Because men think women are posessions, just like their bikes. So just like most buys don't lend out their bikes to just anyone, they don't like sharing their girls either. It is a territorial thing. What if your boyfriend went riding with some other chick?

Find you a girlfriend who rides, watch him get on the back with her, watch them ride off into the horizon, then ask yourself the same question.

I don't know. Why does getting a lap-dance from a hot stripper piss my wife off? By the way, you got some singles I can get for a "20"?
