What is natures purpose for fireflies? I know they only live a short life. What do they contribute to this gigantic world?

Fireflies provide meals for birds, bats, frogs and others. But even if it were not so, I would claim their beauty is purpose enough.

I think the purpose behind the existence of any living organism is to enrich biodiversity! This gives ample opportunity for sustenance of life in different conditions.

That organisms have purpose is a religious concept. There is no purpose. All organisms (including people) just are as they have evolved in order to survive...... or not.
