I have a cousin who is well-educated (in terms of university education and such) but she acts as if the world revolves around her and she's better than everyone else. I mean, judging from the way she talks about others compared to herself, she does not sound like a very open-minded or smart person. I think that being educated doesn't just have to do with book smarts, but also being able to adapt to other people around you. What's her problem (and other people like her)?

It's her insecurities eating her up. I work with someone like this. She has the absolute WORST social skills, cannot get along with anyone, and despite book education has no common sense and cannot figure her way out of a cardboard box! I just stand by and enjoy the entertainment.

I know what you mean, book smart but no common sense. I know ppl like this also and they can be so annoying. Just let them think what they want, you can't change them. They might realize how silly they are one day...or maybe not!

If their not smart, how are they supposed to know that they are not?
Sometime just ask people if they are above mean average in intelligence. I bet the majority will say they are. Yet the majority can not be above mean average.

It means she doesn't have high EQ, that's why she's not smart enough...
There are many people acting in this way. Are you close to your cousin? If so maybe you could give her some advice. If not maybe you should just ignore her. Good luck to you.

They lack a reality dose of common sense. Greater than thou mentality still exists in their head. Ignore them that usually gets them.

I don't like when people do that but it's worse when they have no education at all and just repeat things to you that you've already told them.

She has low self esteem so she is building herself up. Don't be mad at her.........feel sorry for her. People will find it hard to be her friend and those that do will only use her.
