Photosynthesis--chemical change (chemical energy)
Industry and home--work through electricity (electrical energy)
--------------------------- heating or air conditioning (thermal energy)
Motion--mass in motion (kinetic energy)

Energy is the capability to do work or cause a change. Work and energy have the same physical units (e.g., kg-m^2/sec^2). However, work signifies displacement; that is something is moving or moved. Energy that causes change (like in photosynthesis) is not typically called work although there is no physical reason it could not be called work.

Power is simply the amount of energy over a period of time. Thus, for example, if you move a desk 10 feet in 10 minutes, that's twice as much power used if you had moved that same desk 10 feet in 20 minutes. That follows because the energy expended (the work) in both cases is the same (i.e., moving the desk 10 feet), but the period of time spent doing that same work is only ten instead of 20 minutes.
