I recently bought Dazzle DVD Recorder (and just for those who don't know) it's not a DVD recorder you plug into your TV. It is a USB device that you plug into your computer and you plug a VCR or camcorder up to it and record onto a DVD. I can get a connection (albeit a bad one) from my camcorder, but not from any VCR. So I am thinking it is £40 down the drain and I am really desperate for help. All connections and cables are OK, but there is no image from the video on my PC screen, which there should be. The help on the website barely exists, and that includes the forums, they suck. Can anyone help me? I am really desperate.

None of the drivers listed are for this piece of hardware. And what do you mean by "DVD Port"? Do you mean "USB Port"?

All spec checked and it is compatible with my PC. I'm not trying to copy a pre-recorded tape, I'm trying to copy an old home movie.

Hi SB85,

First - Try a different DVD port in your computer.

If that doesn't work go to the Dazzle site and update their software drivers. Go here for their latest - http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/PCTV+Tuners/PCTV+Analog+PVR+%28cable_antenna%29/Pinnacle+MediaCenter+Support/Download+Area/Drivers+-+Updates?mode=documents

Good luck,

Norm

Dazzle records in dvd format, you're beginning to be a folder video_ts containing a million or extra desirable .vob records. those is commonly 0.ninety 9 GB max. This folder is commonly opened via way of a few utility dvd interest followers, which ought to play the great element. in case you burn them to a disc they ought to play on a dvd participant. there is likewise yet another be attentive to-how records too, now now no longer specific what they are even in spite of the shown actuality that I anticipate they are mandatory. I somewhat have not provided any further myself.

Make sure you don't try to play/record a commercial VCR tape. It is protected by macrovision, so it will not work.
So try first a home-made VCR tape. If it does not work, then maybe there is something wrong with your unit.

Make sure that also your PC meets the min. requirements (for example Windows XP, USB 2.0, etc.) Check the Dazzle box.
