Why not.... I miss the double digit inflation, unemployment, and mortgage rates..... not to mention the long gas lines. It was a Democrat Nirvana!

Six year of stag-flation had to get cured for sound economy. Carter when election was coing up put Paul Vocker in place and told him politics be dam get rid of inflation that came from Johnson taking off gold standard, Nixon taking us off silver standard and lowering amout in coins, and oil embargo. Nixon must of had about same marginal income tax rate and he had sur tax. Where are you going to get the money when generation of smokers die, and people stop drinking beer.

I guess we should eliminate medicare and social security to pay for it.
