Not running your airconditioning in your car in an effort to save gas?

Actually on the news the other night they said that if you are taking trips longer than just around town turning off your A/C does NOT save gas because of the wind sheer effect. So A/C away, unless they are short trips or in alot of traffic. My commute is both so I rotate on using the A/C.

I usually have the windows down anyway...unless it is raining or REALLY hot.

Yep. I do put it on for a few minutes since the car gets really hot sitting out in the sun, but otherwise I just roll down the windows. No need to waste gas when there's an easy alternative.

I have found that because of the price of gas a lot of things that I used to do I am not doing anymore. A lot of plans with friends are getting cancelled because of the $$. One thing I am doing is not running the A/C as much anymore to help save gas, (hopefully this works).

Running your air conditioner in the car has little to no effect on your gas mileage.

Personally, I dont run mine because i prefer the windows down.

No we live in Houston Texas you'd die without your AC but I have cut down on trips to the store and I'm shopping on-line more for Cds and DVDs that I want.

I know what you mean, but I can't stand the heat, so I still run the air-condition... Sure it costs me a lot of money

The air conditioning in my car is broken and I hardly go anywhere.

My a/c is broke, LOL. But once I get it fixed, I will be running it on super hot days.

Sweating isn't for Nay. It ruins my mojo!

I really didn't think the air conditioning had much to do with that, I don't usually use mine anyway.
