my mom used to spank me with the hairbrush, yeah it hurts and yeah its effective....its better than getting the belt tho.

JEFF, you never got the hairbrush on your backside? You don't know what you've been missing!! Be glad.
Yeah, sure, it can make the backside really "hurt a lot". IMO a parent can pretty well decide just how much it is going to hurt.
I mean, it is a "spanking" and as I've been told "a spanking is SUPPOSED to hurt".
As a teen, though, I figure usually we can decide how we are going to respond to that temporary "pain".
Is it effective? I guess about as effective as we are willing to let it be!

A wooden-backed hairbrush packs a pretty good sting. And judging by the yelps and squeals it usually elicits from any naughty young lady it's used on (not to mention pleas for mercy and promises of good behaviour), I'd say that, yes, it's pretty damn effective.

um.. being spanked with a hairbrush? i have never heard that one before. so im going to say no.. i have never been spanked with one. or spanked anyone else.

Oh my god. My dad hit me with a bathbrush. I was so afriad of that thing. Then it suddenly disappeared... lol. I was a bad little kid, but I would be so good to not get hit with that thing. Now I'm 14, the bathbrush is gone(glad it "disappeared") and I can be semi evil. But trust me, that made me so fearful of my father, I straightened up.

My mom used to bear me with her hand then, when it got tired or sore, she would switch to something else, like her shoe. But I think she bypassed the hairbrush

My mom beat my fanny one time with a hairbrush (it really, really hurt), but I was a very naughty little girl that was always getting into trouble. My poor mom. I really did put her through hell.

i have been by my grandma. hurts like heck and no hitting me is never effective i laugh as a reflex to pain just pisses the person whomping me even more my grandma thought i was psycho...which i wasn't... at the time
