In Canada, elderlies who need assistance caring for themselves can get this paid for through their provincial Health Insurance. It is only a matter of their family doctors requesting the services for their patients.

If the elderly person also happens to be a veteran of the Armed Forces, and on some small pension from Vetersan's Affairs, then this organization will help pay for structural changes to the elderly's home so that it is easier and safer for them to live there. That is, wheelchair accessibility, grab bars in bathrooms, widening of doorways to accomodate wheelchairs or walkers, general updating of bathroom, kitchen, etc if unsafe. They also supply in home caregivers and cleaners and grounds keepers to those who qualify.

In any country, to see what sort of services elderly individuals are entitled to, try looking in the phone book under government services, and old age.

is the elderly person eligible for medicid/medicare? If so call the Department of Social Services and they will put you in touch with an worker. If not on medicaid and on medicare they might still get you a caregiver. Call till you find some answers because the elder person needs this help and is more than likely eligable for some assistance--Good luck--they can get her/him a shower transfer bench that goes across the bathtub so they can sit--a hand held shower nozzle deal, and a commode chair so they can be more comfortable on the commode. They also have a program Caps that will pay a person to come everyday to do housework and run errands --ask DSS about the Caps --community alternative program also.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Free help to have an elderly persons cleared up in bath? Do you mean home services or assisted services to help a senior person get in and out of a bathtub? If that's what you're talking about, call your local Health Services department. If that's not what you're talking about, I have no idea what to suggest.
