To add to SnickerSnack, who likes Ask A Ninja:
I think we should stop people from reproducing after they have 2 kids, no exceptions. There's no reason to have more these days. If you need help around the house/farm/whatever, then get some hired help. We need more jobs and fewer people.
Global warming and every other evil we're doing to our planet (pollution, habitat destruction, extinctions, disease, etc) is a direct result of having so many people on the planet. The problem is that people are too selfish and don't care to look around them and realize that the world is going downhill fast.
That was hardly close to my usual rants on this subject. Sorry, but it makes me sad and angry to see how people are destroying one of life's most precious and beautiful gifts.

Population is part of our problems, but it is FAR from being the only problem. What good does it do the planet if you have no kids but you use all the money you save on child-raising to buy fuel consuming luxury cars, yachts, air-travel vacations, extra large house, etc etc
There should be no penalty for either fewer or more children than 2, as long as the community average is 2. The best number of kids is the number tha keeps the population stable... new workers to maintain the economy in balance. What we really need a penalty for is overconsumption --- and that might or might not be related to family size.
Globalization means good jobs for skilled workers. But your skills have to measured on a global scale, not on a local scale. If you are among the best in the world at your job, then you make a lot. but you have to compete against all the people in the world who have your credentials. There are only a few jobs where you dont compete on a global scale -- barber, plumber, carpenter., surgeon - for those jobs you don't compete against the whole world, you only compete against all the workers in the world who can get to your neighborhood.
ps there is a huge amount of discussion of this in all environmental issues. Every textbook on environmental issues has a chapter on population.

Enough already!
People don't see the irony in the statement "We need to save the planet for our children." Your children are the problem. Especially if you have more than 2 kids.
Thomas Malthus was right.
Contraception should be free and Planned Parenthood should be well funded. Living child-free shouldn't be looked down upon either. It really frustrating that we are not talking about this during the whole environmental debate.

people are happy to see our world being globalized day by day .but at the same time population is growing rapidly,we should stop the people to rproduce after they have two kids.i think the best way is to make this a law that the one who have more than two kids would be suspended from the job.i think it would be a gr8 law and people have to follow it so as to have basic needs/requirements

I saw a graph many years ago that showed that we would be in trouble at about 10 billion. The resources would not be enough to keep us from killing each other.
