I'm moving to Las Vegas the end of the month and be there July 1. Will I be ok in finding a job? And what are some place that are hiring? Very scared since I never moved.

I'm 24 year old and got a bachelor in Science last year and my major is in Psy. I work in an Big Arena for 8 years. Since I was 16. I work in Food and Beverage and slowly progressed and move up. I supervise about 100+ staff and run events. However within the last year I move over to HR and have experinces in that. I wondering will I be able to find a job that I will be stable.

If you know any place that may hire me or any tips please help. I'm moving out for the first time as well. My max on spending for an apartment is 600 that including the untilies. Thank-you

Here's the local newspaper that is online. You can find job listings and apartments that are for rent. Good luck.

I don't agree with either statement. First, Cena is the top face of WWE, he sells the most merchandise, he sells out arenas, he brings in the most money and probably makes the most money of all the WWE wrestlers, not only that, but he has a passion and love for the wrestling business, it is something he has always wanted ever since he was a child, he is living his dream, no point in giving that up. Second, that just isn't true, he has earn most fans respect, there are only a few Cena haters out there, who just hate Cena for doing his job, most fans love Cena, and the others, don't have anything against Cena personally, they respect how hard he works, and many other things about Cena, they just don't like Cena's Character. Truthfully, this is a good majority of wrestling fans that respect all wrestlers, for the bumps and risks they take just to entertain us, the fans, and, if you was a major WWE star, would you give all that up just because some one on Y!As told you to, I don't think so, and if you did, well, that wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.

Vegas is a transiant town. People come and go on a regular basis. Most employers will not hire without you moving here first.

Get here, relax, and get settled. get a local mailing address and a local phone number.

Get out and meet people and get used to the heat.
Than start to look for a job.

What you did back home may be different than what you want to do here for work. We have different jobs than most cities.

Vegas is a town where you can start over, fresh and create a new you .

Vegas can be rather expensive for rent. Your best bet is to rent somewhere outside of Vegas. Indian Wells to the North is one possibility, Pahrump has gone "vegas" on rent but bargans can be had. Usually the lower the rent in Vegas the higher the crime rate, so check with the police department before you rent. Get the stats on crime in that area.

As for jobs, there are plenty of jobs in Vegas. If you are choosy, it might take a while but if you just want to get your foot in the door and move up... they are a dime a dozen. I suggest you also check with the Chamber of Commerce for ongoing job fairs.

If you have a Manpower Temp service, they are usually hiring and many of their jobs are temp to perm jobs.

Good luck and enjoy...

Try Heritage Estate - suites. They have furnished studio apartments that include utilities for about $600. It's across the street from the Nellis Air Force base. Check out the website of local casinos and start the application process. It takes awhile. consider working for temp agencies until you find something permanent.

You are going to the right place...good people are hard to find and in Las Vegas that is very true. I would shop the hotels with your background and if you don't have a job in a week I would be very surprised. $600.00 is not much for rent but you can go on-line to find a roommate in the "Review Journal" which is the largest newspaper in LV.
Good luck!!

there are a lot of jobs, and a lot of great jobs, but there are so many people moving here that you've got competition at every level and the pay may be lower than you like... I got laid off 3 months ago and just barely got a new job, and I've been here 5 yrs... anyway, check out lasvegasnewspapers.com and craigslist.com, and good luck!!

do some searching online for jobs, and also get your resume in order now. sounds like you have some good experience that would be beneficial to a lot of different places. as far as an apartment goes, i would look for something outside the city limits of vegas, you'll get more for your money that way. that's assuming you have a car.

good luck, and also have fun in vegas!!

It depends on your field about finding a job. I have friends who moved there and one took six weeks to find a job, and the other took three months. I hope you have about a six month cushion financially... That's why I haven't made that move yet - I want to have about a years' worth of expenses covered - just in case!
