Iron on a piece of interfacing to stabilize, then Cut your V. Fold the edges under twice so that the raw edge is hidden. Use a double needle or sew two rows of stitching very close together for a hem.

Ok, try this. On another shirt of the same color and fabric. Cut the middle out (going around the torso) about 1 or two 2inches depending on the hem size. After this fold the strip in half. Now cut your shirt at the desired V length.Next turn the shirt inside out and place your strip to the edge of the newly cut V. Now you can simply make the necessary corrections and make a hem covering the strip (Thus the strip will be hidden inside the hem). This should give you the desired look you were hoping for.

Good luck!

cut the neck into the shape you want and then use a hemming machine to hem on the edge where you cut it i am not sure it will work but it is worth a try
