Why do some people answer like the person is actually going to read their answer? I feel embarrassed for the ones that say things like "I'm your biggest fan" or "I am honored to answer your question." Are the only people reading the answers really just ourselves?

I agree with you. Official questions are just ads. They are either for a new movie or the stars pet project. I doubt that many of them even know they are on Yahoo Answers. It is probably done through their agent.

I read the answers people leave on my questions and I also read what the other answers are on someone elses questions and if I star a question I come back and read the answers...

No,you would be surprised.
Sometimes i just look up question and read the answer.When i don't feel like answering them.I even search for questions and read the answers.

i just answered one of those the other day
seeing as how much answers the question got i strongly doubt that my answer would be read but oh well ..two points
and also since a lot of people answer official questions a few people are bound to agree with my answer ...thumbs up..more points
