most architechs only knows how to draw out plans and make calculations. Carpenters, electricians, plumers, ect know how to physically put pieces together to the plan. I dont think an architech would know by looking at a pipe if it were done correctly.

No, home inspections should be done by certified home inspectors. Is your architect a builder/architect? Are they certified to do inspections? The wrong person performing a home inspection could cost you a lot of money in the long run.

I would say no as well. They aren't nuts and bolts enough to do a good job at it. Im sure there are a lot that are, because they love houses, but most probably are not.
