how long now have you been getting your periods? well, you sound young and this is actually quite normal, even now the first two or three days of my period are heavy and have to change every couple of hours which is very hygenic to do so..so youre doing a good thing there...this may sound weird to you but it helped me when i was still in school and had this issue but if at all possible wear two pairs of underwear if you are not intrested at all in wearing tampons...but back it up wiht a pad as well.if you do choose to wear tampons....anyway the two pair underwear hellps keep the pad in place and trust me it does help..sounds funny i know...but honey you are normal, unfortunatel all us women have to go through this...

When I first started I had to change my pads almost every two hours or more. I was also very irregular.

If they do not let you go, go anyway. If it is a female teacher talk to her and tell her why you need to go.

They may send you to the principal afterwards but you will not get into trouble since it is because of your heavy period. If you do, talk to your parents and school nurse and have them talk to your teacher and principal.

I don't think they want a mess in their classroom.

Do you have enough time to change it between classes?

You could always get on birth control pills as it will lighten your period and your PMS symptoms.

It was the same for me back when i was in high school...(also was using pads)
Heavy periods and major cramps...enough to miss school a couple days every month.
I saw a Gynecologist and she put me on birth control pills.
(They serve more purposes then just preventing pregnancy)
It helped tremendously.......
I switched to tampons and pantyliners.
My periods were less, shorter and little cramps.

As I've gotten older and now married, no longer on birth control pills my period has changed from the high school years... Its no longer as heavy and I maybe use 5 (super plus absorbency) (walmart equate brand )tampons max a day sometimes less and wear a pantyliner to catch any small leaks.

So you might try birth controls to see if they help you too.

Good Luck! I know how much it sucks and sympathize with you.

If it is causing you problems than you need to go talk to your doctor. He/She can put you on birth control. B. C. lessens the flow and side effects of a menstral period. Good Luck.

I hate school.
That happened to me a few times. I think you lose the same amount of menses but...
Try when to go to pee to do Kegel exercises and squeeze out what you can- rock back and forth- I always tried to visualize "giving birth" to my period. I know it sounds warped but it worked. Try wearing two pads and a tampon. and change as often as you can
