This has been happening for a few days. I have a cold however, so could this be causing it? I can usually unclog it by pushing on the ear opening with my thumb. It will reclog a few times by itself and I'll repeat unclogging it and it will be gone in about an hour or so after I get up. But this really bothers me in the morning. What is going on and how do I stop it? Do I have to see I doctor? I'm 14.

It could be because you're sleeping on your left ear. Or go to the doctor and see if you're an "earwax producer". Earwax producers are people that, in fact, produce a lot of earwax. If you go to the doctor, you can also have your ears cleaned out with a water in spray bottles. I know it's a special technique that doctors use, at least some of them. It's very helpful.

it may not be a cold...it could be allergies. at any rate a decongestant will stop the fluid from hanging around in your ear canal

It's because of the cold. It will go away in a couple of days.
