YES.
As a frequent user I understand that most of the propaganda against cannabis is dishonest and incorrect. Marijuana could be used for many applications other than for smoking including paper, oil, and clothing as well.
acierinox - don't assume that people sit around like zombies because of weed. I bet if you take away all the weed those same people will still sit around. Plus, plenty of snowboarders and surfers smoke bud and those aren't easy sports. also, everyone gets worse at remembering things over time.
philip_jones2003 - once again, don't put the blame on bud, put the blame on the people; if they become lazy and don't won't to learn then they're not going to learn no matter what drug they're using. From personal experience, though, cannabis has helped me get through many a night of writing papers and doing homework.

I think it should be legallized also.
I don't know what they would do with the profits and all the extra accidents caused by it, but if cigarettes (which are more addicting than marijuana) are being sold legally, why shouldn't marijuana?! I mean, if people want to screw up their lives, that's fine by me.. but leave me out of it.
And since reguardless of whether or not it's legal, people smoke it anyway and go to prison, and pay fines and things like that, I think it would just be better for it to be legal so people don't have to keep hiding their addiction.
But I do think that marijuana should be much more expensive and sold in smaller quantities just to limit the amount of access people have to it. And same goes for cigarettes too.
If people want it to become illegal, then just bump up the price and sell less of it. It's that simple.
Sorry that was so long.
I have a lot of opinions.

Of coarse it should be legal! People have a basic right to make choices for themselves as long as their actions do not harm others. Responsible individuals in a free society should be allowed to choose whether or not they use marijuana. Individual liberty is a fundamental value. And besides, the government is wasting our time and money by prohibiting marijuana. Taxpayers are forced to pay billions of dollars to persecute, prosecute, and incarcerate people for having marijuana. If marijuana were legal and regulated (like alcohol and tobacco) this money, plus tax revenues from marijuana sales, could be used for other purposes such as education and health care. We should learn our lesson from history; Prohibition is not an effective solution to the problems associated with marijuana use. Marijuana, like tobacco and alcohol, can be abused. But prohibition is expensive and ineffective; education and regulation are better solutions. Regulating sales of marijuana and teaching people the truth about its health effects will allow us to minimize the harms and costs to society.

It should be legalized. Everyone's free to do whatever he wants(at least that's what they say). So Why shouldn't marijuana be legalized? We all know it's bad for our health. So what? Cigarettes as well. If we want to hurt ourselves we should be free to do so.

the only thing about weed is that people sit around like zombies thinking it's cool.
plus long-term users of marijuana gradually become worse at learning and remembering things

if you look at US history it was legal at one time. for the US government to make it illegal the lawmakers must have had some good reasons to do so. you might want to think about this.
