Well, if you read Wicked: Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West-she bathed with oil. What gets me is: WHY WAS SHE WICKED? Girl lands house on sister, takes said sister's shoes-I think I'd be a little ticked too!

She used a certain type of oil and rubbed it on her skin. She has burns on her skin and face in places where she's cried or sweated.
And, her green skin was NOT from not batheing, because she DID bathe, just not in water. The green was from Green Elixir that was given to her mother to drink while she was pregnant with Elphaba [the witch].
The Wizard is her father, though you dont find that out until the end of the book or musical. Her mom cheated on her father with the Wizard, which is why she has magical powers. The Wizard gave Elphaba's mom Green Elixir to drink while she was pregnant with Elphaba[but neither knew it was his baby].

She didn't! She probably was an Elemental Witch who uses Fire as her base source of power. So water would be her downfall. On a side note, Witches don't bath because they use so many oils, fragrances & minerals to protect themselves during Summonings and wards that they would go bankrupt by bathing regularly.

The same way my son does. I think he dry cleans himself, she must have too.
The water runs for about 3.5 seconds then he comes out "clean"
