I've never bought a timeshare, even with the amount of traveling I do, I've just never really thought it was all that worth it. Once you consider the initial cost, then the yearly cost and any other fees that you may have to pay, it can really make it quite pricey.

I know a lot of people that bought a timeshare and later really regretted the decision. It can be really hard to get rid of them once you buy them. So, before you buy, just be sure that you understand everything about it so you don't find you regret your decision later.

As far as Westgate, I don't really like their company. I've stayed with them twice and had several problems each time. One of the biggest problems, I find with them is that they are not very honest and will lie their way out of different situations. I booked one of their new villas one year. When I arrived they had put me almost in the last villa, far away from all the main things and it was one of the older villas. I was not very happy. The villa was old and run down, needed a lot of repairs, several things didn't work. When I went to get a glass out of one of the cupboards, there was tons of bugs in there. That was the last straw for me. I went to the front and explained the situation to them. They were not very happy (and showed it too) but I was eventually able to get them to move me to one of the new villas. Overall, it was pretty nice.

As long as you get the new villas, you will probably be pretty happy. Overall, I like the area in general, pretty nice location, nice activities, etc. I just was not pleased with how well they were upkeeping the older villas, and they were only 2 or 3 years old. That would concern me if I was purchasing that I would find the same problem with my villa as well.

I know some people that really like their timeshare, but also a lot that don't. I think that most people would spend less on vacations and have more flexibilty than they do with a timeshare, but, it all depends on each situation.

I hope this helps!

A relative used to work at west gate for a while and didn't like it. How it worked and such. He then work at Sun Terra Grand Beach for a while out side of Disney and he liked it there more because instead of buying a share your connected to you buy points and those points can be used at any of the resorts all over the world. BUT WHAT EVER YOU DO MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU BUY ASK TO SPEAK TO A SALES PERSON WITH A REAL ESTATE LICENSE.
