for most of recording-was ok when I watched first 30 min or so yesterday.Is this a copyright problem?

all sound has now gone from recording-including what was originally there.No other recordings before or since affected

unlikely to be a scart problem-no other problems with other recordings etc.

i have jusst had to get a new skyplus box cos mine did that, check to see if it is amstrad cos apparently they are rubbish, sky changed ours for a pace one and it has been fine ever since

It maybe the SCART lead is loose - it wouldn't be a copyright thing. I've still got my recording of the Super Bowl on my box.
If the worst comes to it, you can watch brief highlights from NHL on NBC's coverage of last night's game.

Check that the SCART plugs are in properly. That's the commonest cause of loss of sound.
