I always feel british world politics are manulaptive and all thier acts and policies are made with the purpose so that they can have hold of what all they want to do.. They can make a Zero to Hero to anyone to gain and achieve what they want to achive..

Can you put think Gandhi as Non-viloance HERO could have been Zero.. I feel Britishers wanted to leave India unhurt and create a situtation by creating particition with hatred that even after they leave thier porpose of ruling country from outside can be fulfilled..

Freedom movement of Subhash, Bhagat Singh and Savarkar would have made them to pay a lot and would have left the United India today.. But all those are snubbed as part of thier word poltics..That is why all are made as part of bad history by them and people who are mentally slave even today..

Your question takes away from the importance of the Indian desire for Independence embodied by Gandhi and gives it to the British. This is Western White arrogance - "We weren't defeated, we walked away."

This same thinking lead all Calvary attacks on American Indians to be labeled as "Battles" regardless of the fact that they were often massacres of defenseless settlements. Any victory by the Indians were always labeled "massacres" even when it was a fair fight in open terrain.

Give Gandhi his due, he earned it.

Imagine thousands of Americans lying on railroad tracks or on interstate highways to protest the war in Iraq. Or Bush going on a prolonged hunger strike to promote his way of thinking(whatever that is). It boggles the mind!
Yet Gandhi, who was never elected to anything, who never ran for political office, led India and united Muslims and Hindus in spite of themselves, brought the British Empire to its knees. That's what I'm talkin' about! I hear you pal!

After reading your convoluted question, I am thoroughly dizzy. Please get hooked oh phonics and then come back and ask a coherent question.
