when i first got my period it was fairly heavy, i went on the pill at it became more regular, however i kept forgetting to take the pill so i'm off it at the moment. i think it's the first day of my period, however it is really really light. like lighter than i remember it being. is it normal to have a light period for the first day?? i know this sounds silly, but can ur period change as ur get older?? im only 21.

it sure can! mine has changed with each different contraceptive i've been on, as well as after every birth.(i've had four) i start spotting & am light for the first day or so. it shouldn't be cause for an alarm, but talk to your ob/gyn if it makes you feel better. good luck, hon!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Yes, its not only normal its common... your period will change as your hormones change... and as you get older your hormones regulate.... thus so does your period... I went through the same thing.... (I used to be real heavy for 8-10 days and when I hit my early to mid 20's It became much lighter and lasts only about 4 days

taking the pill changes your period, once your off the pill, it will take time for it to become normal again. as women get older their periods do change, like how many days your on it.
or how heavy it flow. ( im talking like women over 40) everyone different, go to doctors regularly, and always uses protection. remember the pill doesnt protect you against s.t.d.

Yes your periods can change as you get older and even just vary from period to period. This may be due to hormonal changes, weight gain or loss (even a few kg), or even other medications (eg. asprin). I wouldn't worry about these small changes unless your periods became irregular or were causing you pain or discomfort.
