Let me give you three differences.

-- The French Revolution was clearly a civil war. There may have been some interaction with the ruling families of Europe, but the conflict was French versus French. The American Revolution had some British against British overtones, but the Americans were forming an identity separate from Britain.

-- The American Revolution include people of many different religions, ethnic backgrounds, and cultural differences such as attitude toward slavery. The French were a more homogeneous people.

-- The American Revolution followed much civil dissent. Congresses were convened, document published, and diplomacy was exercised. The French Revolution was a power struggle that might be called class war fare.

I would say the AFM did not behead anyone
Did not storm the Capitol (or something similar to the Bastille)
The people in France were hungry, literally, for bread and food while the American movement had no such problems.
In France in was Monarchy against who the revolutionaries revolted in America it was a democracy.
I guess there is much more but I am not going to do my homework.
