I know there are some superstitions about crows. Something strange happened today and I was just wondering if anyone has an opinion about the symbolism of this. Early this morning, I heard a loud banging/squawking outside my window. There was a crow perched on the windowsill pecking at the glass and squawking like he was trying to get in. At first, I thought it was a woodpecker, but when I walked towards the window, he flew away and I saw that it was a crow. Has anyone ever heard of a crow trying to get inside a house by pecking on the window? It seemed very strange to me and I was just wondering what it means.

Wow I cannot believe all the superstitious people who think crows are bad. Crows and Ravens are surrounded by much mystery in the world of Folklore. But most of it is not bad. Only in recent years has the Crow gotton a bad wrap. So the best Source for this is a book by Ted Andrews called Animal Speak. When crow comes into your life it brings with it a message of the magic of creation and manifestation. In other words there is not much you can't do right now. I suggest you check out the book.

My Dad had a crow at his door all day then that night my daughters cat brought a crow in her house and let it go. Then the next day I found a black crows bead on my door step. A week after that her cat brought another crow in her house. Then her other cat died and her husbands grandmother died. I have been having dreams my father is going to die so I'm waiting to see what happens with that. When my Grandfather died crows came on their porch and kept making a bunch of noise all day. My Grandmother kept running them off but they came right back. My Grandfather died that night in his sleep. I think they are a messenger from above.

Could be almost anything. Here are three possibilities.

a. the crow could have been after something he was trying to eat.

b. the crow may have been trying to get something shiny for his nest.

c. the crow may have been trying to let you know that he was your totem animal, often called a power animal, or animal guide.

Go outside to the window and see is there was something shiny he was trying to get, and be observant for more strange activity from crows.

If there is more activity, the crow is most likely your power animal and trying to get your attention

In Norse mythology, crows are the messengers and helpers of the chief god Odin and his consort, Freya. (Actually I think Odin is probably Freya's consort. *wink*) Odin and Freya are both associated with magic and shamanism. If you have any northern european ancestry, might be one of them trying to bring you a message.

Also, if you have a question that's been on your mind a lot lately, could be a sign that the answer is forthcoming. Whether the crow was just looking at it's reflection or is really something more mystical seems less important to me than taking the opportunity to use it as a way to open your mind and listen to your intuition. If it were me, I'd start looking for a theme of messages and messengers to show up in my life the next few days and see where it leads.

Crows aren't always harbingers of doom. They are also cosmic clowns. Maybe you've been taking life too seriously lately.

The crow could have been warning. for the next few days make sure you are awake before the time the crow visited you. Something could happen at this time.

Around this time of year, crows get pretty territorial. They see their reflections in windows and think it's another crow, so they start attacking it. It wasn't trying to get in, it was just doing what crows do. Put clingfilm over your window and it'll distort the image so the behaviour will stop.

There might be some phenomenal findings behind this. But to me I think the crow probably saw its own reflection on your window and was probably intrigued by it and tried to communicate or touch it maybe. That's just my view and maybe there's a deeper meaning behind it. Good Luck.

What is the adventure you are about to enter into in your life? Is there something about it that is not quite right? A crow is leading the way on the best path.
