I think it depends on if you believe that God gives indivudiuals "words" for other people.

Because it if a stranger asking you, you should be careful. I would probably ask the person if he or she knew me and why he or she approached me. I would be nice but tell them that I would prefer if he/she simply walk away - that I don't talk to strangers, especially when approached this way.

A stranger approaching you with a question like this is suspicious and should not be trusted.

It would depend on the circumstances. If this person approached me on the street, I probably would walk on by. I live in the city, so I try to avoid speaking to perfect strangers who approach me on the street. They usually have ulterior motives.
Now, if a person I didn't know came up to me in church before or after the Mass, then I would probably engage them in conversation and try to get a better understanding of what they wanted.

If it's a guy, I'd tell him to get lost. If it was a woman, I'd probably offer up some sexually suggestive ideas with the idea that if she was interested in contacting God I'd love to offer her the opportunity to be saying so, e.g. "oh God, oh God, oh God!", etc.

It's been pointed out that belief in God is so common that it's not considered insanity, and to a certain extent, believing you can hear from God isn't, but claiming to be able to communicate back, is.

I would tell him that I am not Pentecostal nor Charismatic, so I do not believe in the "Word of Knowledge", since it seems like fortune telling to me.

I might ask him to pray for me that the Holy Spirit would give the wisdom that I need.
