Not the seat part, but the lid to the tank.

I picked the lid up and it broke, but I can't figure out where to buy a new one without buying the entire toilet.

Thanks in advance.

It is a problem. You can buy the tanks and the bowls but the lid is a whole 'nother story. You may want to check with salvage yards if you have them in your area. Tanks come in so many different shapes that it may be hard to find one that fits right.

Unless it is new you will not find one. Even new, you would have to special order it from the manufacturer. The model and type is listed on the inside of the tank, ( stamped into the porcelain.) Problem is, they do not make extra tank lids. You would pay as much for a tank lid as you would a new tank.

Cheap way out.....cut a piece of wood 1/4" bigger than the tank and let that sit on top. ( this is the CHEAP way out, not the correct way.)

Some plumbing companies MAY have a lid hanging around collecting dust, but that is slim to none. With todays economics they keep the inventory as low as possible throwing out old unusable parts. BUT, all they can say is no! Worth a try.

Just bought one myself. Everyone told me I had to buy new tank but I looked in yellow pages under plumbing supplies and purchased one. You have to have serial number inside tank and make of toilet. If you still have old lid take that in they may be able to match it. Good Luck.

Menard's, Home Depot or someplace like that. Or just do a web search.

Try house demolition or 2nd hand builders yards. Amazing what you can pick up. Stake out neighbours who are renovating their bathrooms
