A true hero is someone who does an act of heroism selflessly and doesn't expect anything in return. a person like that will never become a tyrant. so if ever a president becomes a tyrant he was never a hero he just faked it.

that's my opinion.

Can you name names? Saddam Hussein was a hero, according to the western world, when he waged war against Iran. Gassing thousands of Iraqi Kurds in 1988 was scarcely mentioned in the media. Suddenly he becomes a monster. When it suited the USA.
I'm not sure who you mean by 'we'. I suspect that it is not a good idea for a foreign power to intervene in a country when previous atrocities have been conveniently ignored.
Intervention may sometimes be necessary - like in Dafur and DR. Congo, but it should be done though the United Nations. No one country and its hangers-on should be allowed to 'go it alone.'

One should not excuse the other, being a hero doesn't mean not being responsible of what he does later on, or having a special dispensation. So yes. You can acknowledge that he was once a hero, but that shouldn't stop you from judging his crime.

This concept has always bothered me. In countless works of fiction, the bad guy is a former good guy. Often the extent of his good works exceeds that of his ill. And yet the moment moral weakness is displayed, their value is immediately discarded.

It seems rather unfair to deal with a world that cannot accept balance.

it incredibly is what i think of their families will do while they die. Cory Aquino, if she passes away, would be buried next to Ninoy at Manila Memorial. Logical because it incredibly is the place her husband is buried. Fidel Valdes Ramos, the only guy in Philippine history to have held each rank interior the Philippine armed forces from 2nd Lieutenant to Commander-in-chief, could be buried in his homeland in Pangasinan. Joseph Estrada is possibly to be buried interior the Ejercito Mausoleum in San Juan consisting of his mom Mary. remember Ferdinand Marcos? he's in a refrigerated glass coffin interior the Marcos Mausoleum in Batac, Ilocon Norte. His spouse Imelda needed him to be buried interior the Libingan ng mga Bayani yet exchange into denied. Deserving? i'm going to concede that possibly their intentions (as presidents) have been sturdy yet someplace down the line, something went extraordinarily incorrect. regardless of each thing, one would be remembered via their deeds not their place of very final relax.

Do I assume you are not referring to Idi Amin? He is the only person I can think of in recent history who replaced a tyrant with his own form of tyranny.

Heroes today can become anti-heroes tomorrow. Just because someone was a hero does not mean their entire life will be heroic. If someone becomes a menace, they should be removed from whatever office they hold.

Societal injustices, criminal misdemeanours and any other malfeasance must meet with the appropriate retribution, look at Charles Taylor in Liberia.

Tyrants must not be given retirement packages to the Middle East, or seek refuge in neighbouring countries, they must be held to account for their actions, not expect to be exonerated for their bad
