We used to tie our dog up outside, and didn't think there was anything wrong, but after a couple of years we started letting her live inside - she was SO HAPPY! Now I look back and think it was mean not to let her live with us for those couple of years - she would bark and whine, and when we went near her she would jump all over the place SO excited to see us and be near us. POOR DOG!!! We taught her to pee and poo outside by opening the front door and saying "Out? Out? Wanna go Out?" and emphasizing the word Out so that she associates that with peeing and pooing, she would go outside, and after she peed we'd go "Good Doggie! Good Girl!" and be really happy and excited that she peed outside - so she also associated peeing and pooing outside with us being happy. It actually didn't take that long, and as long as you let them out 3x a day they'll rarely do it inside (once in the morning, once after you get home from work/school, and then once right before bed).

At 2 weeks old he should NOT be away from the mother dog. He barely has his eye open and he sure cant be trained to do anything. Where's the mom??? why do you have such a very, very young pup in the first place??
You need to get on the Internet and do alot of reading on how to care for this tiny baby, like now!

dogs are an "outside thing" but if a puppy they should really be inside until they get bigger. to teach him to do his business in a certain place pick somewhere that doesn't look familiar to somewhere else and as soon as he starts to go to the toilet quickly say "no" and move him to the spot where you want him to go. after he has learned a bit let him outside but walk and point him where he should go. this may take time but it works

Let him go in and out throughout the day, that way he'll be used to inside and outside living.
At such a young age you want to protect him and keep him inside the house near you, but if he's going to be an outdoor dog as an adult, then you need to get him used to outside.
Take him for walks. Go to the park together. Tie him in the yard (with a doghouse) for ten-fifteen minutes at a time.
Cheers

I actually have a guinea pig and 2 rabbits which stay in the storage, yet I positioned their cages outdoors in the colour for the duration of the day for some clean air and enable them to run around too. yet they are continually interior whilst i'm no longer abode and at evening time for sleep.

Crate train your puppy - when you're gone during the day, leave him/her in the crate. When you get home though, take the puppy outside and give lots of praise when they do use the bathroom. Key thing is that when you ARE home, the dog needs to be out of the crate.

Why get a pet if they are going to be outside. A pet/any pet... is supposed to be a part of your family, a companion, a friend. Would you leave your best friend outside?
I do not believe in owning any kind of animal and leaving it outside to fend for itself. You are either responsible enough to care for it and train it, or you shouldn't have a pet.

because he's a puppy, i say let it stay inside... but make sure theres newspaper all over the floor where you keep him, because they ***t all over the floor... but when he gets to be about 1, then you should keep him outside, they wont grow to be like a normal dog and/or get the skills he needs to survive if he's kept inside... anyway, he will stink out the house... i have a dog and he stays outside... it's tough sometimes ((expecially in the winter because it's cold)) to keep him outside all night, but he will get used to it, my dog is perfecly fine with sleeping ouside now...

Start with the doggie websites like Purina etc. they have great advice and sometimes send you a puppy training dvd.
Also you might think about getting those puppy training pads or housebreaking sprays.
Congrats on your new puppy!!
