Let's see. There's this girl who's a REALLY close friend of mine and I like her A LOT, but she already has a boyfriend and I respect that. To her we are the two most important people in her life ( her boyfriend and I), but the boyfriend doesn't really treat her like he loves her, so I spend a lot of time with her to listen to problems and give advice. On Friday, another friend of mine came to me and told me to back off of the girl 'cuz her boyfriend is getting pissed at me and his girlfriend. I told her I couldn't do that without telling her why. I couldn't back off because i'm the only person she can really confide in and on Monday or Tuesday she asked me to promise that i'd never change and that i'd be there for her (which was right after I told her I REALLY liked her). She confessed that she also liked me, but there was nothing she could do because she already had a boyfriend and I wasn't exactly gonna tell her to dump him, i'm not like that. What should I do?

Well to be fair your in the right, your a friend and she needs a friend, she obviously cant tell her bf problems if she is telling you because there is no sense in asking two people, you say you 2 are the most important things in her life and that's terrific and you said that her bf is getting pissed, maybe because he is jealous thinkin your moving in on his territory, you should tell him that's not the case and your only her friend, because in the end it could turn out that he makes her choose between both of you and it ain't fair no matter the outcome. My advice is if you like her alot as a friend and she needs you, being her bf can destroy that, the special link that exists between you swill be replaced by anew one and if that breaks they both do and nothing will go back to how it was. If you like her so much, be her friend, b there for her, love her as a friend but jepordise a beautiful friendship that is very rare.

Talk to her.
Here is my real life story.
There was a lady at the other job that I really liked a lot. But never really took the time to talk to her and tell her.
She left the company. It is one of my true regrests in life. I really think things gone have gone well for the two of us.
So, take my advise and do not make my mistake.
Talk it over with the lady

And I hope you have a better story than I do on this one.

Be a friend to her, and if she knows that the guy is treating her like crap then she will have to see for herself don't say anything

respect her decision and let her decide for herself to break up with him. Dont try to break up the relationship. You should only back off only if she wants you to.
