Usually when someone attacks a country, the country that got attacked goes to war. Japan attacked us at Pearl Harbor which really left us No Choice. Although in all honest we probably would have gone to war eventually anyway because Japan and Germany were kind of taking over the world. Eventually when that happens you kind of have to do something. If we would have gone in earlier we probably could have prevented millions of deaths from happening and stopped the most catastrophic event in world history but our president decided that it wasn't our fight (plus it probably helped that a lot of the German army was in Russia). Oh and by the way we only declared war on Japan (because they attacked us and all) Germany declared war on us the day after we declared on Japan (probably not a very smart decision). Oh and the attack on Pearl Harbor was really our fault too because during the Great Depression (when we had no money) we sold all kinds of weapons and bombs to Japan (with our governments approval of course) which they later turned around and used on us when they attacked our Navel Base Pearl Harbor. So we really got involved because of our own stupidity (just like almost every other war we have been involved in) although it was necessary.

The Empire of Japan attack the United States at Pearl Harbor and almost all of the US pacific bases on and after Dec. 7th 1941.
German Declared war on the United States on the 11th. 7-11.
Had Japan not attacked us and German not declared war on the US then maybe we would not have gotten involved. While we listened to the baseball scores we could listen to Germany stating how they reduce the non-Aryan population of the planet by ten thousand a day. Listening to Japanese bayonet clean tips about, "how to get those chinese baby guts stains off the steel".

We had nothing better to do at the time.

Oh, and there was that Pearl Harbor thingy and Germany declaring war on us after we declared war on Japan for that Pearl Harbor thing.

Are you sure you didn't mean WWI? There's no real mystery or debate to our invovlement in WWII unlike WWI. The sinking of the Lustinia was and the Zimmerman telegraph were trumped up to give rationalization to become involved in that war.

The attack on the Pearl Harbour naval base by the Japanese Air Force was the catalyst.

They couldn't sit on their hands any longer once Pearl Harbour was attacked by the Japanese.
Firstly, you couldn't pay them to get involved, now they can't keep their noses out of other peoples countries.

Why don't you look up "Pearl Harbor?"
But don't forget Lend-Lease and everything else we did before we were actually attacked.

In Pearl Harbor, the japaneese just decided to...oh I dont know, BOMB US! That attack for no good reason is what sent us to that war with germany because they just HAD to get invoved. Kinda hurts to know alot of peaple died or got seriosly hurt and died later just because of Japan's recklessness.World War l and World War ll put my grandfather in a wheelchair. When he died, he was put in a high quality cematary for milatary men. I still miss him to this day.
