Show me the proof, then i'm a believer.,... otherwise. I am an atheist because I don't believe in deities and the word atheist describes this state of disbelief. I don't believe in deities because no argument or evidence presented to me in support of their existence has been convincing.
1. Biology adequately describes life and emotions without appealing to mystical invisible dieties
2. Astronomy adequately describes the formation of stars/planets/universe/etc without appealing to mystical invisible dieties
3. Geology adequately describes the evolution of the Earth, land formations, etc without appealing to mystical invisible dieties
4. Psychology describes the human psyche better than appealing to mystical invisible dieties
5. Appealing to mystical invisible dieties is an appeal to ignorance
6. There's no physical evidence for the existence of mystical invisible dieties
7. A myriad of mystical invisible dieties have been posited by emphatically superstitious societies and have been proven to be products of overly active imaginations (today's religion is tomorrow's myth) and ignorance.
8. Believing in mystical invisible dieties seems to become quite absurd when those who posit the mystical invisible dieties begin explaining why and how they exist in the face of contradictory physical evidence.
9. As scientific knowledge increases, the role of the mystical invisible dieties oddly gets pushed further and further back.
10. Mystical invisible dieties are mystical invisible dieties (ie can never be found by empirical methods)
That should be enough to get you started.

The real question is hidden in this parody. And it is, "Did man descend from early species (Australopithecus), or did God create man from dust and take his rib to form woman. The truth is probably somewhere inbetween.
It is logically a fallacy to argue that there is "one"
"true" god. The proposition presupposes an assumption,
which has and is not substantiated by evidence.
"Faith", as we know it is also untenable. Since it
too is based on several confabulated fallacies. The
same is accurate with respect to agnosticism and
atheism. It's not the case to say, that we do not
know one way or another, but it is also not the case
that we do not know that we do not know. The
ambiguity leaves us in a state of evidence, or the
absence thereof, because we cannot explain the
implacability of the universe, which leads us to
Existentialism Kierkegaard, Freddy Nietzsche(AKA,
hermit, ***** monger and syphilitic near-do well),
Sartre, Camus and other agnostics, who wanted to
rationalize their hatred for the Stoics in way form or
fashion they could. Thus, they ruminated around and
hatched one of the most dangerous philosophies on
earth: the idea that man is essentially nothing pitted
against the implacability of the universe. If this is
so, then it also nothing to kill somebody, which as we
all know is nonsense. Rather than admit, that their
philosophy breaks down, they would rather proselytize
verisimilitude's of its vagary upon the world as being
the end all and be all of belief systems. The
evidence of the reality check on it is quite another matter. Religion: if it's organized, then pick your poison.

Friend,
I do believe in GOD.
To explain my faith and reasons for my belief , it is not that easy.Because we are talking about some thing abstract ,but which is Omnipresent ,Omnipotent and omniscient.
If the to answer were that easy, there would not be so many questions about this God in YA and so many answers. It is a debatable , and debating subject from time immemorial.
Only when you realise (not experience) then you stop asking and answering too.as the realisation can not be put into words. Its purely personal.

Ah yes, another question like this one. I get it asked every single day. It kind of drives me crazy. You know....life is so short....but we spend it asking questions with answers that are so far from us. Still, I shall tell you why I belive in God.
I, Cameo DiLain, have no friends. At elementry and middle school, I used to try and find some friends. I used to. And when I realized that...you know what...fine, fine if I don't have any friends. Fine if I'm a 'loner'.
I started sitting in places where I was all alone and no one could see me. I started to read. I started to love reading. Then, one day...I started to keep a journal. A journal of Life Thoughts.
As I would sit in alone on the green grass...I'd look up at the skies and the clouds. The grass and the flowers. The insects and the birds. I started writing poems and positve thoughts about life. It didn't take me long before I realized what perspective I was looking at life through. A perspective that completely changed my point of view of things. A perspective of beauty. I started to realized beauty in the littlest things. I found my purpose in life. I realized how much I wanted to put smiles on those faces that were full of sadness or wet with tears.
Then, one day, I looked up at the sky. I smiled. I always used to believe in God...but that was the time I realized why I did. As I was looking up at the sky and smiling....I knew why I had been a 'loner'. Because if I hadn't had been without any friends...I wouldn't have realized my purpose for this world, I wouldn't have relaized beauty,a nd most of all....I, now, have friends....that no one, I repeat, no one in this world has. Like those beautiful flowers, and those wonderful insects, and those swift birds, and those blue skies, and that emerald green grass...and....God.
I believe in him....because he fulfilled everything that was lacking. I say...that God is simply the fulfillment of things that lack. I love Him. I talk to Him everyday. He talks to me. Do you know how? Through the brisk movement of the grass. Through the clouds and skies that swiflty sway. Throught the flowers that bloom into beauty. Throuhg the silence that holds music. Through...simply...the perspective of beauty.

I believe in God, Universe, Cosmos, Almighty or any other name you might feel comfortable with. It's all the same, what makes me believe is the power of LOVE, the Love that comes from within me, not externally. That is your God, and we all have it, we just need to find it. God is everything, start by loving yourself, you will start loving God. Blessings!!!

GOD
watch your questio you have asked believe, meaning that there be no reason but just belief if there would have been something because of which i believe something then it is not belief but proof, God cannot be prooved, because what will happen if the parameters change, the way in which the proof is done will change the way in which he is!!!! which is not possible the process of change and the change and the thing that changes all are one, then where is this question?
The only answer to this question is that this question should disappear, not from this site, but from our minds.

I believe in God because of realities that exist around me.
for instance, In order for me to survive, I need to eat food. The food I eat has vitamins and minerals and other things that I need to live. But in God's wisdom he not only made this food to exist, but he made it so I can enjoy eating it. Look at the variety of fruits, all with their different flavors. Also vegetables come in huge varieties.
Why do I enjoy beautiful sunsets. Why do I enjoy the ocean mist, the sound of crashing waves. The smell of the vast ocean. Why do cats give me great pleasure. Why do they sooth me? why do I enjoy being touched by my wife? when she looks at me and says..."I love you". Why do I find enjoyment in that.
I look at my body. with all its parts. I am wonderfully made.
I am a complicated machine. I have a spirit that keeps that complicated machine running. And my soul. That makes me aware of all these things. Yes. my life's existence screams designer. I do believe in God. I call him Jehovah.
