I don't know what's wrong with me, but babies creep me out. I know I'll be considered immoral for even mentioning it - it's almost as though it's taboo. I have this strange disdain for pregnant women, too; I can't even look at them. What might be making me feel this way? Is this uncommon?

I hate babies. I hate the idea of pregnancy. The idea of having some little creature growing inside me feeding off my blood just really creeps me out. And babies are just ugly.

We're not all destined to be mothers! It's not immoral to dislike the idea of babies or having children. Just because we're capable of having kids doesn't mean we HAVE to.

I prefer to direct my maternal instincts elsewhere. ANY baby animals get me into mothering mode, except insects, spiders, and human babies.

I felt like spazzcat explains until about my 4th month of pregnancy. It is creepy , I always thought it would feel "alien" like to be pregnant , but the growth happens in such small intervals , that you get used to it. Kind of like a 10lb tumor..it starts off small , but before you know it , its consumed a part of your body. I also felt the same way about babies...and I still kind of do. Before having my daughter I had never even held a baby , the yougest I had been around was maybe 3 or 4 years old. They used to freak me out , I would actually get nervous if they stared at me too long. It still happens though , onece in a while when I am alone with my daughter and she stares at me , particularly if the room is dim , she freaks me out , lol. Being that she is mine , I usually cover her eyes , jokingly , and laugh at her. It could be a few things that make people "creeped" out by babies. It could be the obvious , that some people are afraid of commitment , and babies definitely symbolize that "im a mom , thats it for fun wild days" , it could be the whole mysterious human growing in a human body idea , or it could be the fact that they are such helpless creatures , a human with little means of communication , very fragile and so unaware.

No. It is not uncommon to be creeped out by babies. I didn't like babies or children. Then I got pregnant. That wasn't the big epiphany, either. I still don't like other people's children. I think I make them cry. And there are some pretty UGLY babies out there. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you're polite about it. For instance, no throwing up on pregnant women's shoes....

I think you have a fear of having children. It could be deeper. I have heard of and actually known other woman with this problem and they have expressed more reasons, such as dislike for having sex. Some of them have actually had a child because their feelings changed and some have had more than one. Some, their feelings changed, others did not change much after having a child. Those whose feelings changed generally had more than one child and those whose feelings didn't had only one child, overall. Some people do not like babies and came to like their children as they grew older, but, of course, they always loved them at every stage. I have to admit, I didn't like poopy diapers or being peed on myself. You can take comfort in this news, or not, depending on your situation. Good luck.

I have four kids & 12 grandkids, can't imagine my life without them. It's just not for some people. Don't beat yourself up about it, no poopy diapers, middle of ther night feedings, terrible twos, you can go & do when ever you want. If I had a choice to do it again I would have had 50 kids. For me they are the greatest acomplishment I have ever had.

I don't feel its abnormal but maybe a little "uncommon". A lot of women don't like kids and don't want them. My sister would never consider kids or even babysit. She said they get on her nerves and that's why she never had any. So I don't think you are alone.

Pregnancy and babies definitely a girlie thing.
Quite normal not to be intreerested.
They more than compensate perhaps over steer and probably do not even notice our disinterest.

Dear god. Can't sleep. Babies will eat me.
Just do a google search for "marzipan babies" and tell me that doesn't creep you out even more.
