I hate the way most things are advetized for couples! Two people sharing and enjoying life, cars sofas.........well, just about everything! But there are some people who are quite happy to live life alone and happily! I hate it more when it's a special holiday time! Okay so Valentine's is for lovers, but do all the other one's have to be all couples?
People who live alone can be happy 2 what do you think?

I'm alone and happy. I have good friends though...it makes a huge difference :)

I am single and have been for a couple of years now and I can truthfully say it's the happiest I have ever been. However, I don't live alone, I live with a friend, I could never live on my own. I would be lonely and unhappy. I have a small circle of close friends that I go on holiday with and days out with, including my house mate.
I think being single is wonderful because it's the little things that make us happy, not big things as some psychologist decided. For instance I can sleep in a large bed and stretch out and not worry about someone else in the bed. I don't have to listen to someone snoring or farting in bed. I can go out when ever and where ever I want to and I never have to explain anything to anyone. It is the most liberating feeling I have ever known. Being part of a couple (and I was for 23 years) was stifling and claustrophobic.

Not only that we are made to pay more when we go on holidays (single supplement payment) and we dont get time off to get married or time off to have babies (well maybe some singles do!!), and we get taxed more because we have no kids, blah blah blah, apart from all that I am very happy to be on my own but I am glad to say with many good friends

when you loose the one person in your life and you dont wish to take up with someone else you find yourself on your own and bloody lonely but i am lucky as you are to accept and like my own company and this is after 8 years and again like you i just detest bank holidays and all travelling for pairs but when as we are single booking and insurance don't they just hit you hard Good Luck

Most people prefer company even if not all the time, those often on their own want company. (please don't go into a diatribe telling me you don't) Adverts show an ideal world, hence the smiles (or fixed grins if you like )
