Here is one social structure that shapes human behavior. The nuturing of our very children. Why is it that after our child is born, we place them in a crib and sometimes in a room far from our own? Is it to promote independene? Is it that we want our space? Is it out of fear? Regardless of how one raises their children, that very action makes me wonder how is it normal or abnormal.

Imagine if we slept with our baby in the very bed we sleep. We definetly wouldn't have to walk very far if they were in need of care and attention. There is the rolling over the child fear but our very diet and consumption of non dietary value (smoking) in our bodies have also a correlation with SIDS (Sudden Infancy Death Syndrome). So why impose child welfare attention any more than during mating and pregnancy if it may arguably be connected? Independence and freedom to do what we want?

The bond that is like no other in breast feeding surely makes a mother and child special. So why are so many mothers not comfortable with the notion of providing for their child that very care and nutritional need?

These very structures within our society has been shaping our society for some time now. Maybe this very disconnect plays a role deeper than feeling neglected as a person that we care to imagine. Human behavior is shaped everyday and most importantly during pregnancy. How else can we consider community without the very connection of relationships as husband/wife, parents/child, single parent/child.

Maybe this question answer doesn't answer yours but its the best approach to ask and think about what we do know about what we doing and wonder, does it work?

I would imagine that social structures refers to things like parentage, government, social clubs, school, friends, etc. The effect on human behavior is the extent to which people are influenced by other people and how much they try to fit into groups as opposed to trying to maintain their individuality and/or have influence on these groups. There is always some expression of individuality in that people pick and choose what social structures will have influence on them at any particular point in time.

Social structures can include cliques in school. The Preppies, nerds, geeks, jocks, goths, druggies, gangstahs.

And these aspects do affect human behavior. We adopt the style and lifestyle. We pick our music based on that, our clothing, our hair styles and our actions.
