GERMANY lost to ITALY 2-0 in the 2006 FIFA World Cup semi-final at the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund, Germany on 04 July 2006. it was the first time ever GERMANY have lost an international match at that venue since they began playing their first ever international match. it was a friendly match against REPUBLIC OF IRELAND on 08 May 1935 which the former WEST GERMANY won 3-1.
